Hazardous Material (HAZMAT)
Trust the transportation of dangerous goods or hazardous cargo to Global Logix. The substances, materials and articles that are covered by the IMDG Code and/or are considered hazardous because of its flammable, corrosive, poisonous nature or other properties, can be well managed by our operations team.
What are considered dangerous goods?
Items or materials with hazardous properties that can represent a potential hazard to human health and safety, infrastructure and while being transported, if not properly controlled and handled.
The UN Model Regulations use a classification system in which the substances or articles are assigned to one of the 9 classes, according to the hazard or the most predominant hazards they present:
- Class 1: Explosives
- Class 2: Gases
- Class 3: Flammable liquids
- Class 4 (4.1, 4.2, 4.3): Flammable solids
- Class 5 (5.1, 5.2): Oxidizing Substances and organic peroxides
- Class 6 (6.1, 6.2): Toxic and infectious substances
- Class 7: Radioactive material
- Class 8: Corrosive substances
- Class 9: Other substances and articles
Free Trade Zone
When you work with us you can also count with a Free-Trade Zone, also known as Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZ), these secure areas placed within a facility are located in or near CBP ports of entry.
Your goods can be received, stored, handled, and re-exported under specific custom regulations.
